Foothill Residential Property Algae Control Case Study

A residential property in the Sierra Nevada foothills had a 1 acre pond that was partially covered with algae. The area receives 60 inches of rain annually and lots of runoff ends up in the pond. Barley straw and microbes were used in the past, but the algae problem seemed to get worse. There was also a large amount of sludge on the pond bottom.

Our Algae Treatment products were applied each week. After 6 weeks, the algae was significantly reduced and sludge digestion was initiated. Annual maintenance treatments have continued to reduce the sludge and balance the ecosystem for the long term.
